F1 rookie Kimi Antonelli balances the books and the track, graduates high school in style
F1 Rookie Kimi Antonelli Graduates High School While Racing on the World Stage
Formula 1 rookie sensation Kimi Antonelli is proving his prowess not only on the racetrack but also in the classroom. The 18-year-old Mercedes driver passed his final exams this week, officially graduating high school just months after entering the elite F1 circuit.
Antonelli, who hails from Casalecchio di Reno near Bologna, showcased his ability to juggle academic commitments while scaling the heights of professional motorsport. He shared the milestone with fans by posting an Instagram story featuring the word "promosso" ("passed") alongside a photo of himself wearing a laurel wreath – a symbol of achievement in Italian tradition.
Balancing Studies and Racing
Fresh off celebrating his career-best third-place finish at the Canadian Grand Prix, the young driver returned home to tackle the rigorous exams. The challenge wasn’t lost on Antonelli, who admitted the tight schedule added pressure. "I was fairly stressed, because I didn't have much time to study. But I did my best," he told reporters last week after completing the initial portion of his exams.
English turned out to be his strongest subject, with Antonelli acknowledging, "That's the one that comes easiest for me." While balancing the intense demands of Formula 1, he emphasized the importance of finishing his academics before the Austrian Grand Prix, saying, "I wanted to complete the exams so I can focus full time on racing."
A Breakout Year for the F1 Youngster
The graduation marks yet another personal milestone in what has already been a breakout year for the Italian driver. With his first podium under his belt and high school behind him, Antonelli now sets his sights firmly on competing against the very best in the world. If his performance off the track is any indication of his determination, Mercedes may have found an unstoppable star in the making.
Keep an eye on Antonelli as the season continues; the F1 rookie is proving he can handle both corners and curveballs with ease.
