Cadillac F1 Team 2026
The Cadillac Formula 1 Team made its official debut as the grid's 11th team for the 2026 season. Operated through a partnership between General Motors (GM) and TWG Motorsports, the team represents the first brand-new constructor to join Formula 1 since Haas in 2016.
2026 Team Lineup & Leadership
Race Drivers: Valtteri Bottas (No. 77) and Sergio "Checo" Pérez (No. 11). The veteran pair was chosen for their combined experience of over 500 Grand Prix starts to lead the team through its inaugural year.
Reserve & Test Drivers: Zhou Guanyu serves as the reserve driver, while American IndyCar standout Colton Herta is the team's official test driver.
Team Principal: Graeme Lowdon, formerly of the Virgin and Marussia F1 teams, leads the squad.
Key Technical Personnel: Nick Chester is the Chief Technical Officer, leading the development of the MAC-26 chassis.
Technical Setup & Operations
For its first three seasons, Cadillac is operating as a "customer" team before transitioning to full "works" status.
Power Unit: The team currently uses Ferrari engines and gearboxes. GM is developing its own proprietary power unit, which is slated to debut in 2029.
Facilities: Cadillac maintains a "tri-continental" operational structure:
- Silverstone, UK: The primary race team and chassis design hub.
- Fishers, Indiana: The main $200 million manufacturing and R&D headquarters.
- Charlotte, North Carolina: The future home of the GM power unit development facility.
Current Season Performance (2026)
Following the first three rounds in Australia, China, and Japan, Cadillac is focused on reliability and operational consistency.
Best Result: The team achieved its first "double-car finish" at the Chinese Grand Prix in March 2026.
Recent Form: At the Japanese Grand Prix (March 29, 2026), Sergio Pérez finished P17 and Valtteri Bottas P19. The team outqualified both Aston Martins for the first time during the Suzuka weekend.
Upcoming Upgrades: The team has announced a major upgrade package for its first home race at the Miami Grand Prix in May.
