The Austrian Grand Prix Secures Historic Contract Extension to 2041

The Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring has secured its position as a staple of Formula 1 for nearly two decades, with a historic contract extension stretching through to 2041. This new deal ties the Spielberg circuit with Miami for the longest commitment in the series' history.

Previously set to run until 2030 after its last renewal two years ago, the Red Bull Ring's connection to the sport now promises an enduring legacy. Owned by the Austrian energy drinks powerhouse behind Red Bull Racing, the track stands as a home ground for Max Verstappen, the four-time world champion and star driver for the team.

A Significant Milestone for Formula 1

"It is fantastic we have secured the long-term future of a Grand Prix so deeply rooted in the sport's history," said F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali. "Austria has long been an incredibly special race for Formula One."

This announcement comes on the heels of Miami's 10-year extension to 2041, announced earlier this year. Meanwhile, other marquee races are locking in their own futures, with Bahrain committed through 2036, Melbourne through 2035, and the Saudi Arabian and Qatari Grands Prix guaranteed until at least 2032.

The Red Bull Ring: A Legendary Venue

The 4.3-km Red Bull Ring is renowned not only for its challenging, undulating layout but also for its striking Alpine backdrop. The venue has become a favorite among drivers and fans alike, with Verstappen securing a record five wins at the Spielberg circuit.

The late Dietrich Mateschitz, the visionary behind Red Bull, played a pivotal role in the track's revival, investing significantly in its renovation. His son, Mark Mateschitz, now leads the project forward and shared his enthusiasm for the extension.

"I am delighted that Formula One will remain at the Red Bull Ring for many years to come," Mark Mateschitz said. "I am proud to continue my father's legacy."

A Bright Future for Austria and Formula 1

The long-term deal ensures that Austria will remain a cornerstone of the Formula 1 calendar, connecting a storied past with an exciting future. For Red Bull Racing, Formula 1, and the legions of fans, the Austrian Grand Prix will remain a highlight of the sport for years to come.
