Williams Team Principal Praises Carlos Sainz’s Impact
Williams team principal, James Vowles, is lauding recent recruit Carlos Sainz, claiming the Spanish driver is delivering “more than I paid for.” Vowles expressed his admiration for how Sainz has integrated within the team, notably aiding in enhancing the squad's performance.
Sainz’s Transition to Williams
After Sainz became available for the 2025 season following Lewis Hamilton’s signing with Ferrari, Vowles seized the opportunity to sign the race-winning Spaniard. Despite the ongoing adjustment to his new vehicle, Vowles is confident in Sainz’s potential impact and adaptation to the FW47.
“I think we’re getting more than I paid for [from Sainz],” Vowles remarked at the Bahrain Grand Prix. “He’s making strides in the car, and though acclimating takes time, he’s also significantly boosting our efforts in aerodynamics and engineering.”
Williams Starts Strong in 2025
Williams has kicked off the season on a strong note, currently positioned fifth in the Teams' standings. Alexander Albon has consistently finished in the top 10, with Sainz contributing points in China. Vowles remains optimistic, pointing to further improvement as Sainz becomes more comfortable with the FW47.
“I’m really pleased with our start because this is a very competitive grid,” Vowles commented. He noted the team’s focus on long-term goals for 2026 while maintaining competitiveness in the present season.
Future Prospects for Carlos Sainz and Williams
“We need to help Carlos get fully comfortable in the car. Once that happens, we’ll be a formidable force in the midfield battle,” Vowles added, praising the team’s achievements and signaling exciting prospects ahead.
