Lando Norris tells Red Bull: Stop complaining, start competing

Red Bull should spend less time complaining about other teams and focus more on their own performance, according to McLaren's Formula 1 leader Lando Norris. Heading into this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix, Norris leads Red Bull's Max Verstappen by a point after three rounds.
McLaren dethroned Red Bull as champions last season, even though Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive drivers' title. This sparked discussions about McLaren's speed. Red Bull boss Christian Horner suggested an upcoming technical directive on front wing flex might be a game-changer from race nine, but Norris dismissed this.
"We're all fully within the rules. We're doing a good job. Red Bull had plenty of time to do the same," Norris said. "They should do a better job rather than keep complaining." Norris added that they respect the FIA's efforts to maintain fairness and are content with the current rules.
Norris also encouraged Verstappen to test his McLaren, while teammate Oscar Piastri shared thoughts on F1 champions ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix. Addressing online critics, Norris said, "People judging from videos are a bit clueless. They have no idea if it's the rear wing flexing or something else."
Norris has finished second in his last two races, after winning the opener in Australia. In Japan, he unsuccessfully attempted to pass Verstappen on the grass at the pitlane exit. McLaren faced criticism for not being aggressive enough in their strategy, especially with Verstappen's new teammate Yuki Tsunoda lagging behind.
Norris acknowledged the balance between when to attack and when to hold back. Reflecting on the Japan race, he admitted he might have acted differently, though outcomes are never guaranteed. "Sometimes you want to be more aggressive, and the team calms you down. Other times, it's the opposite," he said. "Last weekend, maybe I would have liked to be more aggressive, but nothing is guaranteed."
