Hadjar and Marko clear the air over ‘embarrassing' Australian GP incident
Isack Hadjar has addressed the controversial comments from Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, who labeled Hadjar's reaction to his Australian Grand Prix crash as "embarrassing." Hadjar revealed that he has since cleared the air with Marko and received support from both Lewis Hamilton and his father, Anthony.
Hadjar, a rookie with Racing Bulls, crashed on a wet formation lap, leading to emotional scenes as Anthony Hamilton consoled him. Marko’s comments about the incident were widely criticized, but Hadjar admitted he agreed with Marko's assessment. "I found it embarrassing myself," Hadjar said. "I had him on the phone a day later, and it's all good. I've known him for a few years now."
Hadjar shared what Anthony Hamilton told him during their conversation. "He said it reminded him of Lewis parking the car at pit entry in Shanghai," Hadjar noted, referring to the 2007 Chinese GP incident involving Lewis Hamilton. "It was a nice moment, sharing time with someone like Anthony. And indeed, Lewis sent me a message later that day. Really classy guys."
Lewis Hamilton, speaking about his support, stated he "knows how painful it is" and offered his help. "In those moments, you feel like you're not only disappointed in yourself but you feel all eyes are on you," Hamilton said. "I just wanted to make sure he knows it's important to have people you can talk to. One race doesn’t define you; it’s about how you get back up."
Hamilton further elaborated to Sky, "My door's always open. He should know there are lots of opportunities ahead. It's not about how you fall, it's how you get back up."
