Leclerc welcomes Hamilton to Ferrari: ‘No driver is bigger than the team’
In the bustling milieu of the Australian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc addressed the media attention surrounding Lewis Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari. As the Formula 1 season begins, Hamilton’s transition to the iconic team has been a major headline, yet Leclerc remains focused.
Entering his seventh season with the Scuderia, Leclerc, dubbed "Mr. Ferrari" by Hamilton, believes Ferrari’s legacy surpasses the fame of any driver. “There’s no place for one particular driver in Ferrari,” Leclerc asserted. “Ferrari is bigger than any driver. That’s what makes Ferrari so special.”
Leclerc acknowledges the attention on Hamilton, calling him a “legend of the sport,” but expresses no concern over a potential rivalry. Instead, he emphasizes teamwork and a united effort to secure the world championship title. “For me, the only thing that matters is that we are working well as a team, that we end up with a car that is good enough to be world champions,” Leclerc stated.
Part of Ferrari since 2015, Leclerc values the deep-rooted relationships within the team, fostering trust that transcends media frenzy. “Of course, there's a lot of attention for Lewis at the moment. But that doesn't affect me,” Leclerc affirmed.
As the season unfolds, Leclerc remains focused on his mission: to channel Ferrari’s legacy for victory, undeterred by external narratives.
