Carlos Sainz to join Williams for Abu Dhabi post-season test
In an exciting development for Formula 1, Carlos Sainz is set to participate in the post-season test in Abu Dhabi with his future team, Williams, next month. This news comes as Sainz prepares to depart Ferrari at the end of the year to make way for seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who will be arriving from Mercedes.
The Abu Dhabi test at Yas Marina is slated for December 10, following the season's final race on December 8.
"This early opportunity will allow both Carlos and Williams to begin building their relationship," the British-based team stated. "The test session will provide a valuable chance for Carlos to begin integrating into his new team environment, and he will drive the FW46 for the first time."
Hamilton, meanwhile, is not scheduled to participate in the Abu Dhabi test due to ongoing commercial commitments with Mercedes, making this Sainz's unique opportunity to get an early start with Williams.
The official testing for the upcoming season is set to commence in Bahrain from February 26-28, where teams will fully gear up for the challenges ahead.
This move marks a significant transition for Sainz, offering him a head start to acclimate with Williams and gear up for a promising season.
