Ferrari names Loic Serra as chassis technical director

Ferrari has announced that French engineer Loic Serra will take over as the Formula One team’s chassis technical director starting this October. Ferrari confirmed the appointment on Thursday amid several significant changes in their engineering lineup.
Enrico Cardile, Ferrari's former chassis technical director, stepped down from the position back in July. Since then, team principal Frederic Vasseur has been overseeing the chassis department on an interim basis. Cardile is set to join rivals Aston Martin next year as their Chief Technical Officer.
Serra, who is currently Mercedes' performance director, was initially slated to join Ferrari as the head of chassis performance engineering and would have reported to Cardile. With the recent developments, Serra will now report directly to Vasseur, Ferrari added in a statement.
