2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix confirmed Ferrari Challenge as exciting support series.

Another exhilarating racing event has been added to the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix schedule. The prestigious Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli is set to return as a support series for the event taking place between November 21-23, promising fans an unforgettable motorsport experience.

This marks an exciting development for the event, set to take place on the iconic street circuit that traverses the city’s famed Strip.

Last year's flagship event saw F1 invest over $500 million, drawing global attention to the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas. The 2022 schedule included three practice sessions, qualifying, and the main race on Saturday evening. This year, the calendar is richer, featuring more racing activities throughout the week, including the Ferrari Challenge.

"We’re adding Ferrari Challenge. So that will be coming, we’re super excited about it. We took on the feedback last year of not having a support race. Logistics last year were our number one concern, which again I think everyone understood." said Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer for F1 and Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. "So now we feel much more comfortable being able to extend the operating hours and the track activity. It was just a year-one confidence thing honestly, and now we’re feeling pretty good about it."

Ferrari Challenge itinerary

The Ferrari Challenge will include a practice and qualifying session on Thursday, followed by a 35-minute race on both Friday and Saturday. These races will precede the highly anticipated F1 events, ensuring fans have plenty of thrilling on-track action to enjoy.

Adding Ferrari to the mix is a strategic move, aligning with the brand's strong fan base and long-standing appeal. "Ferrari also brings a crowd that loves Las Vegas as you’d expect. So it’s a natural one for us to go after, and they’ve been incredible partners," Prazer added.

In addition to the on-track events, Ferrari's 296 Challenge cars will be on display on the Boulevard as part of F1's fan festival. This initiative aims to draw fans closer to the action and provide an immersive experience.

Organisers are taking extra measures to prevent issues like those experienced last year, when a loose drain cover during first practice destroyed Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari, resulting in significantly limited running and calls for fan refunds. Lessons learned from this incident have informed more rigorous preparations for this year's event.

The fan experience remains a top priority, with 30,000 tickets already snapped up by locals for a fan festival running Friday and Saturday.

VIP guests with access to the Paddock Club will have even more to look forward to. This year, the paddock building will feature an ice rink, inspired in part by Las Vegas' own NHL team, the Golden Knights. "But the idea is, honestly, that if you look at the size of the paddock club and making sure that you actually activate all the space, it was one of those of, 'what do we do?' It's a lot of fun," said Prazer.

With the addition of the Ferrari Challenge and the incorporation of unique fan engagement opportunities, the Las Vegas Grand Prix promises to deliver an elevated experience for Formula One enthusiasts. As the event evolves, it continues to capture the essence of Las Vegas while providing thrilling motorsport entertainment.
