Former F1 Boss Eddie Jordan Opens Up About Cancer Battle

Former Formula One team boss Eddie Jordan has revealed his battle with aggressive cancer. Diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer earlier this year, the 76-year-old shared how the illness had spread to his spine and pelvis, causing him to endure "very dark days."

A Candid Revelation

"Way back in March and April I was diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer, and then it spread into the spine and the pelvis, so it was quite aggressive," Jordan said on the "Formula For Success" podcast, which he co-hosts with David Coulthard.

Emphasizing Early Detection

Highlighting the importance of early testing, Jordan referenced Britain's six-time Olympic track cycling champion, Sir Chris Hoy, who is battling terminal prostate cancer. "We've all heard about our wonderful friend, Sir Chris Hoy, who's an absolute megastar, and he is coming out and talking about illnesses such like what I've got, but he's a far younger man," he noted.

A Career of Influence in Formula One

Jordan, who led a Silverstone-based team from 1991 to 2005, now known as Aston Martin, has also worked as a television pundit and as manager to renowned designer Adrian Newey. He expressed gratitude for overcoming challenging times and urged men to prioritize their health.
