Jim Clark
Racing driver Jim Clark: Formula 1 world champion and a true legend of the track
Jim Clark was a Scottish racing driver often regarded as one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time. Born on March 4, 1936, in Kilmany, Fife, Scotland, he won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1963 and 1965, both times with the Lotus team. Clark's driving was characterized by his smooth style and exceptional car control, which made him a dominant force in the sport. In addition to his Formula 1 success, he also won the 1965 Indianapolis 500, demonstrating his versatility and skill across different types of racing. Tragically, Clark's career was cut short when he died in a car crash during a Formula 2 race at Hockenheim, Germany, on April 7, 1968. His legacy endures through his impressive statistics and the high regard in which he is still held by motorsport enthusiasts and professionals.
