Racing driver Damon Hill: Formula 1 world champion and a true legend of the track

Damon Hill - 1996 (Williams)

Damon Hill is a retired British Formula 1 driver, best known for winning the World Championship in 1996 while driving for Williams. Born on September 17, 1960, in London, England, he is the son of Graham Hill, making them the only father-son duo to both win Formula 1 World Championships. Hill's F1 career began in earnest in the early 1990s, and he quickly established himself as a formidable competitor, known for his consistency and resilience. His championship victory in 1996 came after a series of intense rivalries, most notably with Michael Schumacher. After leaving Williams, Hill raced for Arrows and Jordan, securing his final victory in 1998 before retiring in 1999. Post-retirement, Hill has remained involved in motorsport, including a stint as the president of the British Racing Drivers' Club, and has worked as a commentator and pundit, continuing to contribute to the racing community.
