Racing driver Denny Hulme: Formula 1 world champion and a true legend of the track

Denis Hulme - 1967 (Brabham)

Denny Hulme was a New Zealand racing driver who won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1967. Born on June 18, 1936, in Motueka, New Zealand, Hulme was known for his rugged determination and straightforward personality, earning him the nickname "The Bear." He achieved his championship title driving for the Brabham team, where his consistent performance and technical input were highly valued. Hulme was also successful in sports car racing, particularly in North America's Can-Am series, where he drove for the McLaren team and won multiple championships. After retiring from Formula 1 in 1974, he continued to participate in various motorsport events. Hulme passed away on October 4, 1992, after suffering a heart attack while competing in the Bathurst 1000 race in Australia.
