Formula 1 secures new commercial deal with teams until 2030
Formula 1 has announced a new commercial agreement with all its teams, including the new Cadillac squad, extending their partnership until 2030. This deal, which is part of the Concorde Agreement, was confirmed ahead of the Australian Grand Prix. The current agreement, set to expire at the end of 2025, covers both commercial and governance aspects.
While F1 has finalized the commercial side, the teams must still agree on the governance contract with the FIA. This has become a point of tension, as the governing body’s relationship with F1 teams and the championship has been increasingly strained. Sources indicate teams are worried about delays from the FIA's side.
An F1 statement emphasized the agreement's importance, saying it "secures the long-term economic strength of the sport. Formula 1 has never been in a stronger position and all stakeholders have seen positive benefits and significant growth. We thank all the teams for their engagement during this process to reach the best outcome for the sport." The statement also mentioned that the 2026 Concorde Governance Agreement will be completed soon.
The new agreement includes Cadillac, set to join the grid in 2026. The team plans to build American engines at their U.S. headquarters by the end of the decade.
