Fernando Alonso delays arrival for Brazil GP due to intestinal infection
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso will be arriving late for the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend, following treatment for an intestinal infection in Europe. This marks the second consecutive week the two-time world champion will miss Thursday's media day ahead of a Formula 1 race.
Alonso was unable to fulfill his media obligations at last weekend's Mexico Grand Prix after feeling under the weather. Although he managed to participate in the race on Sunday, he was forced to retire due to brake issues. Following the race, Alonso returned to Europe for specialist medical attention to address his condition before heading to Brazil.
On Wednesday, Aston Martin released a statement confirming Alonso's absence from Brazil's media day this Thursday, explaining that "the extra day of treatment has delayed his travel plans to Brazil but ensures he will be ready for this weekend's racing."
Notably, Alonso's participation in the Mexico Grand Prix marked his 400th race weekend, an impressive milestone in his illustrious career. Fans and team members alike are eager to see him back in action and fully fit for the Brazil Grand Prix.
