SILVERSTONE, England -- Charles Leclerc has described Ferrari’s recent performance as "worse than a nightmare," following another disappointing race at the British Grand Prix.

Leclerc’s victory at the Monaco Grand Prix in May had initially sparked hopes that Ferrari might mount a serious title challenge. However, the Monegasque driver has since secured just 10 points in the last four events.

The British Grand Prix, which saw Lewis Hamilton claim victory, was another difficult outing for Leclerc, who finished in 14th place. His result was marred by an incorrect tire call early in the race.

When questioned about Ferrari’s struggles since Monaco, Leclerc said, "It's very hard, very hard, I don't really have the words to explain it but it's been four races that have been worse than a nightmare, so I hope we can come back soon."

Despite failing to advance past Q1 in Saturday’s qualifying, Leclerc had a promising start and was running in seventh place early in the race. However, his hopes of scoring points were dashed on lap 19 when Ferrari decided to switch to intermediate tyres as light rain began to fall.

The rain did not intensify as expected, forcing Leclerc to pit again for another set of intermediates once his initial set wore out.

Leclerc acknowledged that both he and the team need to review their decision-making processes. "It's very difficult to look at positives in days like this," he said. "I just want to go back with the team, analyse the ways we are making decisions, and why we were on the wrong side today."

Reflecting on the call to switch tyres, Leclerc added: "[The pit call] was clearly the wrong one. I'll look back into it with the decision, with the message I got and the info I had, it felt like it was the right one. It was raining a lot, I was told the rain was going to be heavy so I stopped to anticipate, but the rain came eight, nine laps later, so that was obviously the end of our race.

"Very frustrating, another weekend to forget and it starts to be a lot."

Ferrari will need to regroup quickly if they hope to turn around what has been a challenging series of races.
