Felipe Drugovich to Continue as Test and Reserve Driver
Aston Martin has officially announced that Felipe Drugovich will remain with the team as its test and reserve driver for the 2025 Formula 1 season. The 2022 Formula 2 champion will share duties in the role with former McLaren driver Stoffel Vandoorne, further solidifying his place within the team.
Drugovich is also set to take part in the 24 Hours of Daytona later this month, driving the #31 Cadillac for Action Express Racing, while maintaining his commitments to Aston Martin’s F1 program.
Drugovich's Contributions to Aston Martin
Since joining Aston Martin’s driver development program in 2022, Drugovich has been a vital asset to the team. He has participated in three end-of-season tests, five FP1 sessions, and the recent post-season testing in Abu Dhabi, where he logged 146 laps, continuing to gain valuable experience in Formula 1 machinery.
The Brazilian driver’s role extends beyond the racetrack, as he has been actively involved in simulator work and providing feedback to enhance car development.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the renewed opportunity, Drugovich stated, “I’m obviously really pleased to be staying with Aston Martin Aramco for a third full season as Test & Reserve Driver. There’s a lot of momentum at this team, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together.
“The incredible new facilities at the AMRTC, including the brand-new simulator, demonstrate the ambition here, and I’m committed to being a part of Aston Martin Aramco’s long-term success. As always, I want to thank the team for their ongoing support.”

Mike Krack, now serving as Aston Martin’s chief trackside officer, emphasized Drugovich’s importance to the team: “Felipe has been a vital member of our team since joining, and we are very pleased to continue working with him into 2025 – he is a real asset.
“His contributions behind the scenes, particularly in the simulator and during test sessions, have been invaluable, and he does not put a foot wrong behind the wheel. Felipe’s dedication and feedback have played a crucial role in our progress, and we are confident he will continue to make a significant impact as part of our team.”
Krack also extended his best wishes to Drugovich for his upcoming participation in the 24 Hours of Daytona.
