BUDAPEST, Hungary -- Oscar Piastri clinched his first Formula 1 Grand Prix win in Hungary, marking a significant moment in his career. The race was filled with tension due to McLaren intra-team dynamics, where Lando Norris initially hesitated but eventually complied with team orders to let Piastri reclaim the lead he had lost due to a less advantageous pit stop strategy.

The race began with an aggressive start, with Piastri taking the lead at Turn 1. He maintained this position for most of the race until a strategic pit stop allowed Norris to temporarily take the lead. After some delay and repeated team orders, Norris allowed Piastri to pass on the 68th lap, securing Piastri's victory by a 2-second margin.
Lewis Hamilton finished third, facing his own challenges, including a collision with Max Verstappen, who ended the race in fifth place and faced post-race investigations. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz finished fourth and sixth, respectively.
Other notable performances included Sergio Perez, who made a significant climb from 16th to finish seventh. George Russell similarly improved to finish eighth from a 17th place start.
The race ended with Pierre Gasly retiring due to a suspected hydraulic leak, while other drivers battled for positions outside the top ten, encapsulating a dramatic and eventful race day.
