FIA and Formula 1 reveal the 2025 race schedule

The FIA and Formula 1 have unveiled the 2025 race calendar, marking a special year as the sport celebrates its 75th anniversary. The season will feature 24 races, spanning five continents, from March 14 to December 7.

The season starts with the Australian Grand Prix from March 14-16 and wraps up with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 5-7, covering five continents.

The calendar setup of 2024, designed for a more efficient geographical sequence of races, will persist into 2025. This arrangement begins with the Japanese Grand Prix in April after the races in Australia and China, and continues through Europe during the summer months and the Americas in the fall, concluding with Qatar and Abu Dhabi hosting consecutive final races.

This condensed schedule features 24 races across 266 days, reducing the span by two weeks compared to the previous year. The Hungarian Grand Prix has been reinstated to its usual slot before the summer break, and the Belgian Grand Prix has been moved up to earlier in July.

Formula 1 CEO and President Stefano Domenicali commented on the significance of the 2025 calendar, marking the 75th anniversary of the championship.

He praised the enduring legacy and experiential richness that enables the organization to present a robust line-up of races. Domenicali commended the FIA, promoters, host cities, and associated national sporting authorities for their roles in finalizing the schedule, anticipating another remarkable year for Formula 1. He also acknowledged the drivers, teams, and fans for their unwavering passion and support.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem highlighted that the approved calendar supports the commitment to sustainable practices by optimizing the regional grouping of races.

He noted the focus on maintaining the stability of Formula 1 while addressing environmental responsibilities and the welfare of the traveling staff. Ben Sulayem expressed gratitude towards the host local organizers, national sporting authorities, and thousands of FIA volunteers for their dedication to making Formula 1 a globally celebrated sport as it approaches its 75th anniversary.
