FP3: Piastri fastest during final practice session in Imola after crashes cause red flags
McLaren's Oscar Piastri topped the timesheets in the final practice session of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix weekend, clocking a best time of 1m 15.529s. Piastri led ahead of teammate Lando Norris and Ferrari's Carlos Sainz in a session disrupted by crashes from Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez, each incident causing red flags.

However, Alonso's crash at Rivazza and Perez's collision at Turn 15 interrupted the flow. With minutes to go, Piastri secured the top spot, three-tenths clear of Norris.
Ferrari's Sainz and Leclerc took third and fourth, respectively, followed by George Russell in fifth for Mercedes and Max Verstappen in sixth for Red Bull. Williams’ Alex Albon impressed in seventh, while Esteban Ocon, Lance Stroll, and Nico Hulkenberg completed the top 10.
Daniel Ricciardo placed 11th, Perez 12th post-crash, and Yuki Tsunoda 13th. Valterri Bottas and Logan Sargeant wrapped up 14th and 15th places. Kevin Magnussen and Lewis Hamilton, who faced ride height issues, ended in 16th and 17th. Alonso, Pierre Gasly, and Zhou Guanyu rounded out the timings.
Qualifying will follow this afternoon at 1600 local time.
