GP Qualifying: Verstappen clinches pole position for Miami Grand Prix ahead of Leclerc and Sainz

MIAMI, United States -- Max Verstappen has secured his seventh consecutive pole position for the Miami Grand Prix, clocking in with a time of 1m 27.241s during the initial runs of Q3. Despite not improving on his final flying lap, the Dutchman's early performance was sufficient to hold the top spot.

Joining Verstappen in the front row is Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, with his teammate Carlos Sainz not far behind in P3. Sergio Perez secured P4, maintaining strong representation for Red Bull.

The McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took P5 and P6, respectively, followed by Mercedes’ George Russell and Lewis Hamilton in P7 and P8. Nico Hulkenberg repeated his China qualifying result, placing his Haas in P9, while Yuki Tsunoda rounded out the top 10.

Aston Martin faced a tough session as Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso both exited in Q2, lining up in P11 and P15 respectively. Alpine’s Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon placed 12th and 13th, ahead of the Williams of Alex Albon in P14.

Valtteri Bottas of Kick Sauber took P16, with Logan Sargeant in P17. Despite a strong Sprint performance, RB’s Daniel Ricciardo ended at P18 and, due to a penalty, will start from the back. Kevin Magnussen and Zhou Guanyu were the last qualifiers, taking P19 and P20 respectively.

The grid is set for an exciting race, with Verstappen in prime position to extend his winning streak.
