Charles Leclerc has signed a new contract with Ferrari, extending his stay with the team beyond the 2024 Formula 1 season. The length of the deal has not been confirmed. Leclerc has been with Ferrari since 2019, winning five races for the team.

He said, "This team is my second family ever since I joined the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2016 and we have achieved a lot together... My dream remains that of winning the World Championship with Ferrari."

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur emphasized the strong bond between Leclerc and the team. He said, "His values and those of our team are intertwined and so it was natural for us to be in agreement on extending our collaboration."

Leclerc's teammate, Carlos Sainz, is still in talks for a new contract. Ferrari's 2024 car launch is scheduled for February 13.

F1 Grand Prix first race

The first race of the 2024 season, the Bahrain Grand Prix is set to take place from February 29 to March 2. Due to the Muslim holy period of Ramadan, both the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will be held on a Saturday, rather than the typical Sunday race day. As a result, practice sessions one and two will be held on Thursdays, with final practice and qualifying taking place on Fridays.
